A 42-year-old Ottawa man faces charges in connection with fraud allegations from the public.

Police received complaints in July and August this year about a man claiming to be an independent contractor accepting down payments for renovations “that he had no intention of completing.”
The man advertised his work under several business names: Cory HT&T, Epic Wood Finishing, Cedar Renovations, and Platinum Cabinets.
Cory Cahill, 42, of Ottawa, has been charged with fraud over $5,000 and uttering threats.
He was released on an undertaking to appear and and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
Investigators believe that there are other victims.
